Montford Point Marine Association

The Montford Point Marine Association and its 35 affiliated Chapters across our nation, is a non-profit veteran's organization established to perpetuate the legacy of the first African-Americans who were permitted, for the first time, to enlist in the United States Marine Corps between the years 1942 - 1949. These African Americans were required to be trained separately, apart from white Marines, at Montford Point Camp, New River, North Carolina, and subsequently to serve in racially segregated units through World War II, and the following period of peace.

Auxiliary

Montford Point Marine Association also consists of the Auxiliary. Membership in the Auxiliary is open to husbands, wives, sons, daughters, sisters, and mothers of members or former members of the United States Armed Forces.
